What are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

How are All-on-4 Dental Implants Placed?
The process of obtaining All-on-4 dental implants is completed over several months and several different appointments. This is to allow the bone and gum tissue to completely heal before each step of the procedure. During the first appointment, a consultation including a physical examination of the mouth will be performed, and dental impressions and x-rays of the teeth and gums will be taken. During the next appointment, the All-on-4 anchors will be surgically placed in the bone and a temporary prosthesis will be attached.
Over the next few visits, more impressions will be taken with the temporary prosthesis in place which will be used to craft the final version of the prosthesis. These impressions will also be used to make any adjustments that are needed to ensure the prosthesis has the proper fit for correct alignment of the teeth and jaws and for proper bite and movement.
Once all of the necessary adjustments have been made and the final prosthesis has arrived, it will be placed during the last appointment.

All-on-4 vs. Dentures
Benefits of All-on-4 Implants
Permanent replacement
All-on-4 implants provide a permanent solution for tooth loss. Unlike traditional dentures, this prosthesis cannot be removed and provides a stable, long-term solution.
Natural look
because these implants are permanent and custom-designed to fit your facial structure, All-on-4 implants look and feel natural.
Does not lead to bone loss
traditional dentures sit on top of the gums and are not affixed to the bone underneath. This means that over time, bone density is lost due to the lack of chewing pressure. All-on-4 implants are placed directly into the bone to prevent bone loss.
No adhesives
unlike traditional dentures, All-on-4 prostheses do not require adhesives to stay in place. Since they are attached directly to the implants in the bone, they will always stay in position.
No food limitations
All-on-4 implants allow the patient to eat whatever they’d like without worrying that certain foods will weaken their denture adhesive.
